Valuations for Deceased Estate Jewellery

When a loved one in your family dies, often they will leave behind jewellery. If the recipients of the jewellery have not been specified in the will, then it will be up to the executor and estate lawyers to determine the value of the jewellery before they can work out the fairest way to either distribute the jewellery, sell the jewellery and distribute the proceeds or advise the total value of the jewellery at the time of estate settlement.

The actual process of a deceased estate valuation is similar to other jewellery valuations where the type of metal and gem is identified and graded and a market appraisal is given.

The valuation provides clarity and assists family members in fulfilling the wishes of their loved one.
